Early in 2022, our friends from Euroboozer travelled to Kyiv, Ukraine and managed to rescue 45,000 pints from Varvar brewery, who, being threatened by the Russian invasion were forced to close down. Martyn Railton paid full-price for the stock, and once it was sold on to various retail outlets, Euroboozer donated it`s £22,000> profit to Drinkers for Ukraine. Overall, with the £46,000 paid to Varvar for the original stock, £68,389.46. was sent to Ukraine.
Bottle and Board also donated it`s profits from their #DrinkerforUkraine event, a total of £400>.
This year`s event.
We still have a few bottle`s of Varvar beer left at the shop, once they have been sold, we are fairly confident that we will be able to surpass last year`s total. (Exact figures will be made available, just as soon as we have them.) Most of the beer`s that remain at the shop are from Varvar`s limited edition range, and so, when they are gone, they really are gone!
